Electrode Development Engineer Team lead

The Electrode development engineer Team lead is accountable for leading a team on the electrode design and optimization for Li-ion capacitor and other energy storage solutions at Beyonder AS.

Planning

  • Project and development planning

  • Assist in the definition of new project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Be involved in technical strategic planning to meet company’s goals

Project Management

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

  • Develop detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

  • Create and maintain project documentation

  • Implement operational best practices

Operation

  • Design innovative slurry mixing and coating strategies;

  • Improve existing formulations through thoughtful experimentation to optimize the performance of slurries and coatings;

  • Develop slurry and coating characterization techniques to determine formulation-performance relationships and offer chemical and cell level corrective strategies;

  • Supervision and production control of lab and pilot electrode manufacturing line;

  • Evaluate different raw materials, processing conditions on the electrode performance;

  • Participate in cross-functional team supporting upscaling and manufacturing of pouch cells;

  • Train and educate junior employees;

  • Other related work required from Beyonder.

Education

  • Master in the field of chemistry, material chemistry, electrochemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related.

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in Li-ion product electrode development and design.

Computer Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and suitable diagnostics software

Languages

  • Good communication oral and writing skills. Working language is English.

  • Preferably (willingness to learn) Norwegian for collaboration
